The LAWYERS' LIST was
founded in 1904 to provide a list of preeminent counsel throughout
the world.
Since that time, The LAWYERS' LIST has been published for use by members of the Bar, legal departments of corporations and Foreign Service and Department of Commerce offices throughout the world when in need of a law office with outstanding credentials.
In 1937, the American Bar Association Standing
Committee on Law Lists began establishing publication standards
for all law lists and granted Certificates of Compliance only to
those lists which maintained the high standards which the Association
established.
The LAWYERS' LIST was granted
a Certificate of Compliance by the ABA for every year that their
Committee remained a standing committee.
Following the discontinuance of the committe,
the management of The LAWYERS' LIST has maintained
the standards established by that committee.
A more detailed description and history of
The LAWYERS' LIST will be added to this site at a
later date.
The purpose of The LAWYERS' LIST is to present a limited international list of members of the Bar. Selection is made on the basis of personal investigation by field representatives and recommendations by subscribers and corporate law departments.
Law offices are engaged in either, General, Corporation and Trial Practice or Patent, Trademark and Copyright Practice as noted. In some countries, Patent and Trademark cases are handled by Patent Agents who are not attorneys. These listings are clearly identified.
We gratefully acknowledge our indebtedness to all of those who have freely and graciously cooperated with us in the compilation of this web site and the 105th edition of The LAWYERS' LIST directory.
